Brain Bolt 25 was a huge success!
We held Brain Bolt 25 on March 29th and was a huge success! We raised over $13,700 had 236 registered runners!
We really don't know what to say except the biggest THANK YOU we can manage. Your contributions to our small but mighty non-profit are going to make an enormous difference in the lives of those living with brain injuries.

Brain Bolt 24 did not disappoint!
Brain Bolt 24 did not disappoint. On March 2nd, 2024, we had the pleasure of holding our run at Creve Coeur Park (a nice flat course). The weather was perfect, and we hosted 142 runners/walkers this year! Truly amazing. Thank you to all who came out to support and those who donated to BIFSTL in support of our clubhouse!

John Kindschuh in Law360
John recently suffered from a brain injury. He is an advocate for people with head injuries, speaking over seventy times (to date!) to various groups, such as to BCLP lawyers and staff, therapists, doctors and nurses, religious organizations, and police officers.

Great Turnout for the Brain Bolt 5k!
We held our Brain Bolt event last Sunday (6/25/23), and it was a huge success. This was our first crack at putting on a 5k, and it exceeded our expectations. Our goal was to have 50 runners, and we ended up with 101!!

It’s a place where individuals who aspire to do something more, wish to give back to the community, form friendships, and focus on gaining skills to return to competitive employment through a work-oriented day.

Counseling and Brain Injury
So, you have a brain injury, and your life has changed. Do you need psychotherapy and counseling?
This is not an uncommon question and is also a great thing to ask yourself. In some cases, you may already know the answer. If you don’t, that’s okay. Change can be scary, and brain injury can result in a life-changing scenario; it is okay to need help to manage these changes.

March was all about Brain Injury, and more importantly, how we are more than just our brain injury. Using person-first language is a key approach at BIFSTL and how we treat our clients. People First Language” (PFL) puts the person before the disability, and describes what a person has, not who a person is.
